Ebor Festival – York Races

Wednesday 19 August – Saturday 22 August 2026

The York Ebor Meeting, also known as the Ebor Festival, is a prestigious four-day horse racing event held at York Racecourse. The Ebor Meeting is often referred to as “the Royal Ascot of the North”.

The festival is named after the Ebor Handicap, Europe’s richest handicap flat race and the highlight of the final day.

There is plenty of Group race action, including the Juddmonte International, the Darley Yorkshire Oaks and the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes.

Racing superstars like Frankel (International Stakes 2012) and Enable (Yorkshire Oaks 2017, 2019) have won here in the past.

Tom Barnes returns to York Races for the 2026 season

York Racecourse is pleased to confirm that Tom Barnes, chef & owner of Michelin star restaurant Skof, will be returning to The Sky Bet Ebor Festival on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th August.

For these two days Tom will be taking over both the kitchens and the front of house for the Dante Suite, providing an afternoon of delightful dishes with world class sport.

A luxury Yorkshire Afternoon Tea will complete a culinary experience to remember.

Tom Barnes is known for his intuitive cooking style and appreciation for seasonal ingredients. Tom opened his first solo restaurant, Skof, in Manchester, in May 2024. The restaurant, located in the city’s historic NOMA district, lives within a former drapery warehouse built by the city’s storied Co-Operative Movement. Following a sensitive restoration which exposed beautiful Victorian brickwork and tiling inside the listed building, Skof opened with 36 covers and a ‘Pass Table’ where all guests dining from one of the two tasting menus are invited to take one course.

Tom has won The Roux Scholarship and wowed on BBC2’s Great British Menu, where he won the main course at the final banquet.

His work as executive chef for Simon Rogan’s three Michelin-starred L’Enclume, one Michelin-starred Rogan & Co, Henrock, and Home by Simon Rogan was instrumental to the group’s success.
